Self Drilling Screws
Drills its own hole — no pilot hole required
A self drilling screw — also called an SDS screw, a TEK screw or a roofing screw — makes its own hole. The hardened tip drills through the sheet and the steel behind it, the thread cuts itself, and the screw pulls the joint tight, all in one action. There is no pilot hole to drill first, which is why a roofing crew can fix a whole shed in a fraction of the time.
We stock four types. Hex head screws, in zinc plated and Xylan coated finishes, cover roofing and cladding. Truss head screws suit thin sheet and framing work. CSK head screws sink flush where nothing can be left sticking out.
Every batch is checked before it leaves our Bengaluru warehouse, because a screw that burns out halfway through a purlin costs far more in wasted labour than it ever saved on price.

What is the difference between a self drilling and a self tapping screw?
A self drilling screw makes its own hole. A self tapping screw only cuts the thread — you still have to drill the hole first. Every screw on this page is self drilling.
Which one should I use for a metal roof?
The hex head screw with a rubber EPDM washer, fixed through the top of the rib. Choose zinc plated for normal inland sites, or Xylan coated near the coast or where the screws will be seen.
How do I know what length I need?
Add the sheet thickness and the purlin thickness, then allow about 10 mm more so at least three threads come out the back. Send us those two numbers and we will tell you the size.
What sizes do you keep in stock?
Hex head from 10 x 19 mm to 12 x 150 mm, truss head from 8 x 13 mm to 8 x 50 mm, and CSK from 6 x 13 mm to 10 x 75 mm. Every size is listed on its own product page. Availability depends on current stock, so call or send an enquiry to confirm before you plan around it.
